Leeds Transplant Games 2022 Report

The team in Leeds city centre

After a three year break due to the pandemic the games returned in 2022,the host city was Leeds with events centred around the University complex, much rejuvenated canal dockyard and the John Charles sports centre.

A small team of 14 competitors made the trip to Yorkshire with many team members including myself deciding not to attend due to the ongoing Covid risk and concerns over a lack of mitigations. The ever rising monetary costs of the event had a bearing on some peoples’ decision too, especially in the current harsh financial climate.

Those that competed performed well with many medals won across the wide range of sporting disciplines.

In total the team won 18x Gold,12 Silver and 3 Bronze medals over the four day event, a total of 33 medals. A good performance from a much smaller than normal team. Well done to all!
