Held on Saturday 26th November at Begbrooke and Stapleton Community Centre. Around 40 people attended and I have to say that I personally enjoyed it very much.
There was much fun and laughter as well as a disco, Tombola ran by the wonderful Andy and Anne Strange. Where do they get all their prizes from? They seem to gather quite a few each year.
The annual draw took place with the first prize of a 2 night stay for two at the Saunton Sands hotel, Bed breakfast and evening meal, how fantastic and what a prize. Also there were four cash prizes. The last cash prize was won by someone who was actually at the social, amazing.
We were given some special prizes of which an auction took place and raised a further £100 on the night. The famous quiz took place thanks to Steve Nicholls.
The questions seemed to be a lot harder this time. We did have a winning duo who actually made a good score. The food was great, but I have to say that really because I produced it. The hamper which was made up of goodies donated by the committee looked amazing.
When I drew the name from the box I was shocked to see that I myself had won it!!! What are the chances of that happening with 40 other names in the box! I think someone sneakily put my name in. A great surprise. Overall a great night and thank you to you all for all your support of the annual Christmas draw.
