BAKPA Properties

Full membership of BAKPA is required to use either of our BAKPA properties

Hales House

Following a generous bequest from our former Treasurer, Colin Hales it enabled BAKPA to purchase a house near to Southmead Hospital for Renal Patients and their Carers / Families who live outside the Bristol area and have to come into the Renal Unit for treatment. Over the years it has given those who have used the house a haven of peace to relieve the stress at what can be a very difficult time for everyone. The 2 bed house is centrally heated and fully fitted out for immediate use. For legal reasons all Renal Patients, and whoever accompanies them must join BAKPA, and the stay in the house must not be more than one month; some new procedures require daily hospital visits prior to transplant, in these cases the maximum stay may be extended. All bookings are made via the renal unit staff at Southmead Hospital. No direct charge is made but we rely on donations to keep this valuable service going.
